CHURCH HOMECOMING 

New Black Jack Baptist Church will have our homecoming May 22nd Bro Allen Harrington delivering the message. Potluck after service. Located at 402 North St Union, MS 39365 Philadelphia MS 39350.

 

EVENT CANCELLED 

Due to unforeseen circumstances the singing on Saturday, May 28th at Center Hill Baptist Church on HWY 486 has been canceled until a later date.

 

CHURCH HOMECOMING 

Indian Springs Assembly of God will have Homecoming and Memorial Service on Sunday June 12. The service will begin at 10 a.m. with dinner in the Fellowship Hall at noon. The morning speaker will be Reverend Scott Davis of Laurel, MS. Jerry Drury of Philadelphia, will be the featured singer. 

You are invited to come enjoy the worship and fellow- ship. 

CLASS REUNION 

Can you believe it, it’s almost time for The Class of 1962’s 60th Class Reunion we have set for June 4th. This event will take place at Boo's Smoke- house BBQ located at 270 A West Beacon Street Philadelphia MS. It will begin at 1:30 P. M. Lunch will be served at this time and will be buffet style. You will be responsible for your own meal. Please contact Jimmie Savell at 601-953-0787 by May 15th if you can attend!" 

SOIL AND WATER SCHOLARSHIPS 

Neshoba County Soil and Water Conservation District, a member of the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts (MACD), announces its annual call for applications for five scholarships to be awarded in January 2023. First place: $10,000. Second place: $10,000. Third place: $10,000. Fourth place: $10,000. Fifth place: $10,000 and sixth place $10,000. These scholarship awards are open to any college 

sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in a college or university in the state of Mississippi. 

• Applications will be evaluated based on student’s grade point average, activities and leadership qualities, financial need and supporting materials. The Scholarship is open to students pursuing a Natural Resources field of study which includes but is not limited to: Agribusiness, Agricultural Engineering Technology and Business, Agriculture Information Science and Education, Agricultural Pest Management, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Animal and Dairy Sciences, Agricultural Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biological Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Forestry, Human Sciences, Horticulture, Land- scape Architecture, Landscape Contracting and Management, and Poultry Science. 

MACD is a non-profit organization made up of the state’s 82 Soil and Water Conservation Districts who promote the conservation of Mississippi’s natural resources through education and outreach.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 

New County Line Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School on June 6-10, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. The theme this year is Rocky Railway and the church is located on HWY 427 

near Edinburg. 

CHURCH HOMECOMING 

Laurel Hill Baptist Church, Neshoba County: Homecoming, June 12, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Speaker will be our pastor, Bro. Ricky Callaway: Larry Winstead, music. A potluck will follow the service. 

LINWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT 

Linwood Volunteer Fire Department has their monthly Board Meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5:30. These meetings are open and anyone in the community is welcome to attend. They are held at the new station on road 325. 

CHURCH YARD SALE 

There will be a Yard Sale at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Edinburg, MS, on Saturday, June 4th, from 7AM till 2 PM. Proceeds will go towards Family Camp. BBQ plates will also be on sale for $10. 

NESHOBA COUNTY FAIR EXHIBIT HALL SIGN-UP 

Come by the MSU Extension Service-Neshoba County office and pick up your entry forms, entry tags and exhibitor number for the Neshoba County Fair Exhibit Hall. Youth ages 8- 18 can enter items in the categories of fresh fruits and vegetables, field crops, food preservation, food-nutrition, posters, and arts and crafts. Adult categories include fresh fruits and vegetables, field crops, food preservation, and cultural arts. The deadline to pick up your entry forms, tags and exhibitor number is Monday, July 11. Call 601-656-4011 or come by the Extension Service office at the Neshoba County Coliseum for more information.
