PRE-K program

The Pre-Kindergarten Program is located at the Neshoba County School District, Office of Federal Programs/Pre-K building at 1125 Golf Course Road. Students are screened for enrollment by a pre-kindergarten test. The program is designed to serve those children with the most academic/ developmental needs, and will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2022.  The classes will begin and end to coincide with the regular school term at Neshoba County Schools.  Participating students’ parents will be required to provide transportation to and from the center.  As other students in the school district, pre-k students will be offered breakfasts and lunches by the Neshoba County School District Food Services.

Registration and testing will be conducted from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm, on May 23 – 25.  We ask that one parent attend with the child being tested.

SINGING QUARTER

A singing will be held at Center Hill Baptist Church on Hwy 486 on May 28th at 7:00 PM with singing guests The Revelations Quartet everyone is invited!

Indian Springs Assembly of God will have Homecoming and Memorial Service on Sunday June 12. The service will begin at 10 a.m. with dinner in the Fellowship Hall at noon. The morning speaker will be Reverend Scott Davis of Laurel, MS. Jerry Drury of Philadelphia, will be the featured singer.

You are invited to come enjoy the worship and fellowship.

CLASS REUNION

Can you believe it, it;s almost time for The Class of 1962’s 60th Class Reunion we have set for June 4th. This event will take place at Boo's Smokehouse BBQ located at 270 A West Beacon Street Philadelphia MS. It will begin at 1:30 P. M. Lunch will be served at this time and will be buffet style. You will be responsible for your own meal. Please contact Jimmie Savell at 601-953-0787 by May 15th if you can attend!"

SOIL and water scholarships

Neshoba County Soil and Water Conservation District, a member of the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts (MACD), announces its annual call for applications for five scholarships to be awarded in January 2023. First place: $10,000. Second place: $10,000. Third place: $10,000. Fourth place: $10,000. Fifth place: $10,000 and sixth place $10,000. These scholarship awards are open to any college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in a college or university in the state of Mississippi.

• Applications will be evaluated based on student’s grade point average, activities and leadership qualities, financial need and supporting materials. The Scholarship is open to students pursuing a Natural Resources field of study which includes but is not limited to: Agribusiness, Agricultural Engineering Technology and Business, Agriculture Information Science and Education, Agricultural Pest Management, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Animal and Dairy Sciences, Agricultural Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biological Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Forestry, Human Sciences, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Contracting and Management, and Poultry Science.

MACD is a non-profit organization made up of the state’s 82 Soil and Water Conservation Districts who promote the conservation of Mississippi’s natural resources through education and outreach.

church revival

Beat Line Baptist Church will hold a revival Sonday May 22 at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m and Monday thru Wednesday, May 23-25, at 7 p.m. Speakers are Bro. Nels Norris on Sunday and Monday and Bro. Ben McDaniel Tuesday and Wednesday. Gospel music nightly by The Dill Family. 

The church is located at 13180 Road 505.

linwood volunteer fire department

Linwood Volunteer Fire Department has their monthly board meetings on the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. These are public meetings and anyone in the community is welcome to attend.
