The Monument Replacement Committee continues to sell bricks and pavers to be placed at our new Fallen Veterans Monument located in DeWeese Park adjacent to the Neshoba County Library. Bricks are $125.00 and Pavers are $200.00 each. Every effort will be made to get any orders received by the 15th of April shipped in and installed before our Memorial Day ceremony scheduled for May 30, 2022. For more information and order blanks you can visit our “Fallen Veterans Monument Replacement” group on Facebook, picking up order blanks from the Depot in Philadelphia, sending an email to rcrocker@netdoor.con or calling Ray Crocker at (601) 663-6674.

PRE-K program

The Pre-Kindergarten Program is located at the Neshoba County School District, Office of Federal Programs/Pre-K building at 1125 Golf Course Road. Students are screened for enrollment by a pre-kindergarten test. The program is designed to serve those children with the most academic/ developmental needs, and will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2022.  The classes will begin and end to coincide with the regular school term at Neshoba County Schools.  Participating students’ parents will be required to provide transportation to and from the center.  As other students in the school district, pre-k students will be offered breakfasts and lunches by the Neshoba County School District Food Services.

Registration and testing will be conducted from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm, on May 23 – 25.  We ask that one parent attend with the child being tested.

CHURCH CONCERT

MT Olive Baptist Church in the Stephenstown Community will be singing on Sunday morning April 24th starting at 11:00 AM, featuring "The Old Paths" everyone is invited to come and hear some good gospel music.

CHURCH HOMECOMING

Mars Hill UMC located on Road 729 will be hosting our Homecoming on April 24th, 2022. Service will begin at 11:00 AM and will be followed by lunch in our fellowship hall. We are honored to have Reverend David Wilkerson bringing the message. We look forward to seeing you all there!

4-H kitchen science program

The 4-H Kitchen Science program will be having an interest meeting for any participants or volunteers interested in joining 4-H. 

For all youth ages 8-18 interested in learning about science experiments in the kitchen, this is the program for you! We will be having an interest meeting on May 3rd at 5:30 p.m. at the Neshoba County Coliseum. Please call the office at 601-656-4011 to let us know if you are planning on being of attendance!

SALEM BAPTIST CHURCH HOMECOMING

Homecoming is set for May 1 at Salem Baptist Church (Kellis’ Store) in the Preston community. Service begins at 10:45 a.m. with the musical group “Answered Prayer” being featured. There will be a potluck dinner. Brother Russell Lee is pastor.

CATTLEMAN’S MEETING

The Neshoba County Cattlemen’s would like to invite all local farmers and cattle producers to our spring Cattlemen’s Association meeting. If you are a current member or you are interested in becoming a member of the Neshoba County Cattlemen’s, please join us for our spring Neshoba County Cattlemen’s Association program on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 6:00 PM at the Neshoba County Coliseum.  We have some very exciting guest that will be speaking on various informative and educational topics and a delicious meal will be provided to members.
