CATTLEMEN MEETING

The Neshoba County Cattlemen's Association would like to welcome you back on April 3rd for our Spring membership meeting. The meeting will be held at the Neshoba County Coliseum, located at 12000 Hwy 15 N, Philadelphia, MS, 39350. We will have a representative from MSU College of Veterinary Medicine come and give a presentation on topics such as castration, stocker cattle, and backgrounding cattle. Please do not forget that if you have not paid your dues, they can be paid at the meeting. There will be an additional $10 fee for any spouse or additional guests that do not wish to become members.

You must RSVP by March 27th by 5:00 p.m. for your seat at the meeting. You can call the Neshoba County Extension office at 601-656-4011 to RSVP. Individuals requiring special accommodations to participate should contact the Neshoba County Extension office to make their request by March 20th by 5:00 p.m.

CLEANUP

Kevin Baysinger is inviting the community to take part in the annual “The Great Neshoba Cleanup." The Great Neshoba Cleanup will take place every Saturday in April from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, focusing on cleaning up roadsides along various county roads. Baysinger has volunteered to coordinate the efforts and can be reached at (601) 416-5587 or via email at Neshoba25@bellsouth.net. HOMESTEAD DEADLINE

Tax Assessor/Collector Mike Lewis, wants to remind Neshoba County homeowners that they have until April 1, 2025 to file homestead exemptions.

If you have a change in status, such as obtaining a new home, buying or selling land, death of a spouse, turning 65 years old, becoming disabled or getting married or divorced, a new homestead needs to be filed.

Homeowners who received the exemption last year and did not have a change in status need not reapply as their exemptions will automatically be renewed.

If you have any questions concerning your homestead exemption please contact the Neshoba County Tax Office at 601-656-4541.

SPRING MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The Neshoba County Forestry Association would like to welcome you back on April 8th for our Spring membership meeting. The meeting will be held at the Neshoba County Coliseum, located at 12000 Hwy 15 N, Philadelphia, MS, 39350. MSU Forester Specialist will be presenting on The Importance & Effect of Thinning. VOTING MACHING TESTING

Logic and Accuracy testing on the voting machine will be on April 9-10, 2025 in the Neshoba County Courthouse for the upcoming election on April 15, 2025.
