A Neshoba County man faces gun and drug charges with after he was caught with numerous supervised release violations during a Mississippi Department of Corrections checkup last week.

Leroy Stahl, 41, of 10270 Highway 16 west, was charged with possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said that Stahl had more than two grams of meth and just under 30 grams of weed when he was arrested.

A second man at the home was arrested on a misdemeanor charge. David Allen Alford of 8166 Highway 488, was charged with providing false identification information in connection with Stahl’s arrest.

Several items, linked to a burglary on County Road 367, were also recovered from the residence during the arrest. Clark said that more charges are possible in this case. 

“Investigators expect future charges in connection with the burglary,” Clark said.

Officers with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office joined an officer from the MDOC in going to Stahl’s home on 16 West near the Leake County Line about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday to check on his compliance while he is under post-release supervision.

Judge Johnathan Spears set Stahl’s bond at $15,000 on the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charge and $25,000 on the possession of controlled substance charges. 

Clark said Tuesday that Stahl is yet to post the $40,000 bond and is being held in the Neshoba County Detention Center.
