An armed Neshoba County man was shot by law enforcement officers in a standoff Saturday evening that stemmed from a domestic disturbance, the authorities said.

“While on scene a standoff ensued between law enforcement and the armed assailant,” Sheriff Eric Clark said in a Facebook post Saturday night.

He identified the address as 13850 Road  602, but did not identify the man.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was notified and took charge, Clark said.

“All Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office personnel are safe," Clark wrote. "Thank you Leake County Sheriff’s Office for the support. Please pray for all involved!”

Clark late Saturday referred all questions from a Democrat reporter to MBI.
