Neshoba Central volleyball season off to a good start

 The Neshoba Central volleyball team got its new program off on the right foot as the Lady Rockets picked up three victories last week.

They opened against Nanih Waiya which Neshoba Central won 25-18, 25-20 and 25-16.

Neshoba Central then won its second match over Noxapater, 25-15, 25-14 and 25-20.

The final match came against West Lauderdale which Neshoba Central won 25-13, 25-11 and 25-15.

“We seem to be getting better in each game,” Coach Zack Sanders said. “They are enjoying the game. We played well last week.”

Coach Sanders said the team was playing around 11 players. Starters are Jasmine Schnacky, Nautica Bacon, Hama’ya Fielder, Mya Willis, Daylynn Mingo and Rodezah Smith. Those also seeing action are Allie Williams, Shante BeaulieuErica Lyons and Sa’Nya Jackson.

Neshoba Central has three matches this week. They were to take on Eupora on Monday. Then they play region rival Canton twice. There on Tuesday and at home on Thursday.

The junior varsity team is 3-0 and the junior high team in 2-0.
