Neshoba Central boys on 3-game winning streak

The Neshoba Central boys basketball team entered the week with a three-game win streak.

Last week the Rockets defeated Northeast Lauderdale 54-53 and Kosciusko 47-26. The Rockets entered the week with a 4-7 record.

The Neshoba Central girls picked up two victories as well. The Lady Rockets defeated Northeast Lauderdale 82-32 and Kosciusko 78-56.

The Lady Rockets entered the week with a 12-0 record.

Neshoba Central was to visit Northwest Rankin on Tuesday. 

Next week, the Rocket teams travel to Noxubee County on Tuesday and host Newton County on Thursday.

Zae Goodin hit back-to-back-to-back 3 point shots in the third quarter to lift the Rockets over Northeast Lauderdale last Tuesday.

Goodin led with 18 points while Bryceton Spencer scored 15.

 

Rockets 47

Kosciusko 26

Neshoba Central kept up a steady attack as they knocked off Kosciusko last Friday night.

Spencer led with 14 points, and Goodin put in 10 points.

“We are starting to come together as a team,” Coach Russell Cruise. “We have our football players, and they are adjusting. We are getting better each game.”

The Lady Rockets had this game wrapped up before the half.

Carly Keats led with 25 points, while Hama’ya Fielder added 21 points, and Denise Denson scored 8 points.

 

Lady Rockets 78

Kosciusko 56

Hama’ya Fielder scored 24 points, and Carly Keats added 17 to lead the Lady Rockets past Kosciusko.

Shaylynn Hunter scored 12 points, and Veronica Williams added 10 points.
