Ms. Minnie Pearl Hill was born on June 5, 1949 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Grover and Millie Mae Latimer.

Minnie lived most of her life in Flint, Michigan as a domestic engineer raising five children. She enjoyed reading the word and her church family. She also shared a passion for angel figurines with her granddaughter Kristal Hill.

Minnie leaves to cherish her memory 5 children: 2 sons, Joseph L.(Michelle) Hill of Bolingbrook IL, and Jacob A. Hill of Atlanta, GA; 3 daughters, Theresa E. Corder of Riverview FL, V. Michelle (Terry) Shumpert of Wimauma FL, and Sheila Hill Joyce of Lilburn, GA; sister, Vivian Jernigan of Philadelphia MS; brother James (Octavia) Latimer of Charlotte NC; she was blessed to see 19 granchildren and 7 great-grandchildren come into the world with 1 preceding her in death at birth; special nephews and nieces, Robert “Clyde” Burnside and Terrell Latimer, Patricia Long (Burnside), Tanya Baxter (Burnside), Stacie Summerline (Horne), and LaQuisha Johnson (Latimer); aunt, Francis Graham; and friends who provided support with calls, food, transportation to appointments, visits and encouraging Minnie through this journey.

Minnie was preceded in death by father, Grover Latimer Sr.: mother, Willie Mae Latimer; 2 sisters, Mary Horne and Nannie Hawthorne; 3 brothers, Grover Latimer Jr., Nathaniel Latimer, and Jerome Latimer; and great-granddaughter, Brittany Lucas.

The family would like to express special thanks to: 2 goddaughters that provided excellent care of Minnie Pearl Hill, Linda (Wally) Clay and Judith Williams; several doctors who are more like family, Dr. Sud, Dr. Dutt, Dr. Saha (Luci), and Dr. Aurora and their children. Without all of you this journey would have ended a long time ago, but you fought the battle with us and gave us quality time we would not have had. Thank you, we love you.
