A Meridian man was fatally injured in a wreck on Mississippi 19 south in Neshoba County last Friday afternoon.

Hubert Rush, 69, of Meridian died in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene, said Mississippi Highway Patrol Sgt. Jameka D. Moore.

The accident happened on May 7 at approximately 1:53 p.m., the MHP said.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said that the incident happened near the Bethesda community close to where Road 448 intersects with Highway 19.

Reports show that a 2020 Ford F350 driven by Kenneth Ruffin, 63, of Decatur, Georgia, was traveling southbound on Mississippi 19 while Rush in a 2018 Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound on the same roadway.

Moore said that both vehicles made contact causing the Ford F350 to come to final rest on the southbound shoulder of Mississippi 19.

Rush’s Toyota Tundra came to a final rest in a driveway just off of Mississippi 19.
