Meridian man busted with drugs, firearm
Sheriff’s deputies have a Meridian man in custody following an early-morning arrest Tuesday in the House community that netted drugs and a firearm.
Ronnie Lynn Edwards, 41, of 566 C Pippen Road, Meridian was arrested and charged with driving under a suspended license, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said Edwards was taken to the Neshoba County Detention Center where he is awaiting bond.
Clark said that on Tuesday, Feb. 9, just after midnight Neshoba County deputies made a traffic stop, a black Nissan driven by Edwards.
Deputies were conducting a safety checkpoint at House at the intersection of Mississippi 19 and County Road 298 at the time, according to Clark.
The traffic stop netted more than 10 grams of meth, less than 30 grams of marijuana and a .9mm Ruger handgun.
