Maxey crowned Miss NC Fair

Grace Caroline Maxey, 17, was crowned Miss Neshoba County 2022 last night at the Grandstand. She also captured the top score in the interview portion.

Maxey is the daughter of Michelle Maxey; and Max and Leigh Maxey. She is a member of Sanctuary of Philadelphia.

Maxey has been on the headmaster's list, with a 95 average or above in all her classes from 1st through 11th grade. She was chosen Leake Academy's 2022 Most Beautiful. Maxey is a member of the Lady Rebel softball and basketball teams. She was awarded the MAIS 5-A All-Star award in basketball. Maxey was selected as a representative for Leadership Neshoba hosted by the Philadelphia CDP.

After graduating high school, Maxey plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in Biology. 

First alternate was Faith Anne Shumaker, 18, daughter of Reggie and Tammy Shumaker. Shumaker also received top score in Fairwear and the Miss Congeniality Award. 

Second alternate was Meredith Leigh Adams, 18, daughter of Russell and Monica Adams. Adams received the Photogenic Award. 

Other contestants were Ali Grace Cheatham, 17, daughter of Mark and Michelle Cheatham; Zoey Raine Bell, 19, daughter of Scotty and Memory Bell; Lauren Gwen Posey, 16, daughter of Pepper and Shannon Posey; Piper Lane Fulton, 19, daughter of Jason and Angela Fulton.

Pages were Macy and Zach Madison.

The outgoing Miss Neshoba County Fair Abby Seale, Emcee Tim Moore, and 2022 Miss Mississippi Emmie Perkins entertained Fairgoers during the pageant.

The pageant was directed by Jennifer Bounds.
