Mattie Gertrude “Trudy” Williamson was born in Carthage, Mississippi on November 2, 1938 to Presley Grover Burnside and Alma Lula McCann Burnside.

She died June 12, 2021 at the age of 82 in Philadelphia, Mississippi. She was known as a wonderful mother and faithful friend who was always there for those who needed her. She was a hard worker who would give everything she had to those in need.

Trudy is preceded in death by husband Curtis Williamson, sons Tony and Billy Beard, brothers Robert Burnside, George “Bud” Burnside, L. Frank Burnside, and James Burnside, sisters Lucy Obera Ogden, Jane McCluskey, and Bessie Federick, and 4 half-brothers Eason, Albert, Henry Clay, and Jimmy and 5 half-sisters Beatrice, Idell, Beulah, Maggie Lee, and Louise. Trudy is survived by her son Mike Beard and his wife Deborah, 3 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Charles Burnside, sisters Virginia Wiggins and husband Lavelle, Tressie Vowell and husband Jimmy, and Rose Pritchard, and many nephews and nieces. Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral service following at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at First Pentecostal Church of Philadelphia, 1104 Kosciusko Rd., Philadelphia, Mississippi 39350. Rev.

Tim Vowell and Dr. Raymond Wiggins will officiate the service.
