Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend she went home to the Lord on December 19,2020. Born in Philadelphia, MS on October 28, 1951 she was a current resident of Pearl, MS. She was a retired office manager and a professional grandchild spoiler. 

Known to many as simply “Betty”, “Miss Betty”, “Aunt Betty” and “Mama”, her favorite title was “Mamaw Betty”. She was quick witted, strong willed, and a joy to be around. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, spending time with family, trips to the casinos with her sisters, and anything that involved her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her three sons, Joey Goodwin of Lumberton, TX; Jeff Goodwin and his wife Angela of Philadelphia, MS; Josh Goodwin and his wife Angela of Pearl, MS; her sister Jean Veasey and husband Wayne of Hammond, LA; her sister Gail Ryals and husband James of Meridian, MS; and sister-in-law Jackie Hitt Hardy of Little Rock, MS.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces/nephews, her four-legged friend Scalawag; and last but not least her most treasured survivors, her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Helen Hardy, brothers Joe and Rudy Hardy and sister Dorothy Rainey. There will be a graveside service held at 10:30 A.M. on January 23, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Philadelphia, MS.
