A Jackson man wanted on multiple burglary and other charges in Neshoba County was nabbed in Pearl over the weekend after his wanted tag was picked up by a license plate reader in Pearl, the authorities said.

Jonathan “Johnny” Myers, 60, 1124 Donna Avenue, Jackson, has been arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling, felony taking of a motor vehicle and false pretense, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

“We have Jonathan Myers in custody,” Clark said Monday morning. “Pearl Police Department arrested him after his license plate hit on a tag reader.”

Clark said he was arrested late in the afternoon on Sunday, April 24.

Clark said Myers is currently being held at Neshoba County Detention Center awaiting initial appearance for a bond.

Myers is a suspect in a home burglary reported on April 15 at a residence on Road 131, Clark said.

Myers had recently done some contract work for the residents. They were away from the house between 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and discovered their home had been burglarized when they returned, Clark said.

They discovered a 9 mm gun, jewelry, multiple television sets and power tools had been taken.

Clark said deputies have already tracked some of the items to pawn shops in Philadelphia and Vicksburg.

Deputies also received reports that a 1996 White Toyota 4-Runner was reported in the area. Myers is believed to be driving the vehicle. Clark said deputies tracked to the vehicle as one stolen from a residence on Road 282.

Clark said Myers had also done some contract work for the owner of that residence. Clark said the owner has been in the hospital in Meridian for extended period of time and filed a report Sunday afternoon after being contacted by law enforcement. The vehicle has been recovered.
