Man issued DUI after trying to leave scene of an accident
A driver was charged with DUI after he allegedly caused a three-vehicle accident Friday evening and was prevented from leaving the scene by another motorist.
Adam Cole Turk, 26, was arrested and charged with first-offense DUI, according to Police Chief Eric Lyons.
Officers responded to a reported accident at the intersection of Pecan and Byrd avenues at about 6:30 p.m.
"A caller advised that the driver that caused the wreck was attempting to leave the scene," Lyons said.
According to Lyons, another motorist at the scene used their vehicle to block Turk’s car until officers could arrive. Turk was taken into custody shortly after.
Lyons said the scene was cleared within 20 minutes and that traffic was not significantly impacted.
