A Union man wanted on burglary charges was in the process of allegedly using fentanyl at a convenient store here when he was arrested on Friday.

Jeffery Dooley, 35, 10211 Road 2210, Union, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, burglary of a dwelling, three counts of petit larceny and four counts of false pretense, officials said.

Sheriff Eric Clark said deputies caught Dooley at approximately 5:30 p.m. July 9 at the Spaceway on Pecan Avenue while he was in the process of grinding up a pill containing fentanyl in a spoon presumably to inject.

Clark said a tip that Dooley, who was wanted in connection with an early March home burglary on Road 836 in the Burnside community, had been sighted at the Spaceway led them to the scene.

The caller said that the suspect was a male driving a black 2005 Honda Accord who was wanted through Neshoba County Justice Court.

Dooley remained in the Neshoba County Detention Center Monday afternoon on $39,200 in total bond.
