Man arrested for enticing minor girl
A Neshoba County man wanted in at least three surrounding counties on charges that include sending sexually explicit messages to a minor was arrested early Monday morning.
The man, Richard St. Germain, 55, 10390 Road 294, was arrested and charged with enticement of a minor, sharing sexually oriented messages with a person under the age of 18, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, resisting arrest, improper equipment, and no insurance, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.
The Union Police Department also wanted him on a warrant for failure to appear in court.
Clark said he did not know the exact details of the Union charges as they stemmed from investigations conducted in nearby Leake and Scott counties.
“All I know is that he was sending sexual pictures of himself to someone he believed was a young girl,” Clark said.
In conjunction with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and UPD, Neshoba County Sheriff’s deputies served the warrant out of Union at St. Germain’s Road 294 residence on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 11:45 p.m.
Clark said the suspect was not found at his residence at the time. A search of the property found a bag with a substance believed to be methamphetamine and a glass pipe with residue on a bedside table in one of the bedrooms.
Investigators were informed by neighbors that St. Germain often drove his mother’s vehicle, a silver Nissan Pathfinder. Clark said the Pathfinder driven by the suspect was soon seen stopped in the road in front of the residence.
According to Clark, law enforcement approached the vehicle and gave St. Germain verbal commands to exit the vehicle.
After he refused, Clark said officers forcibly removed St. Germain from the vehicle and handcuffed him after a brief struggle. Clark said he was in custody around 12:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb 10.
Investigators recovered St. Germain’s cell phone and further evidence including an envelope with St. Germain’s address and a smiley face on it. Clark said St. Germain had sent a picture of the envelope to the underage victim.
