Services for Lydia “Granny” Manning were held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from Mars Hill Pentecostal Church in Winston County with Rev. Dwight Fleming and Rev. Bryan Madison officiating. 

Burial followed in the church cemetery.  Visitation was held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Manning, 103, of Winston County, died Saturday, May 28, 2022, at her home. 

A native and lifelong resident of the Mars Hill Community in Winston County, she enjoyed working in her yard, growing flowers, and cooking for the community.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, and especially going to church to worship.  Mrs. Manning was a member of Old Mars Hill Pentecostal Church in Winston County.

Survivors include; grandchildren, Tim Manning (Karen) of Philadelphia, MS, Ted Manning (Barbara) of Philadelphia, MS, Sam Manning (Dawn) of Germantown, TN, Brad Stuart (Amy) of Philadelphia, MS, Donald Joe Nowell (Vanessa) of Philadelphia, MS;  great-grandchildren, Jessica Barnett (Allan) of Philadelphia, MS, Kaitlin Copeland (Jason) of Philadelphia, MS, Belle Manning of Germantown, TN, Caden and John Brady Stuart of Philadelphia, MS, Minnie, Lyra and Weston Nowell of Philadelphia, MS; great-great-granddaughter, Ivy Kait Copeland; sister, Nita Goldman of Philadelphia, MS; daughter-in-law, Pam Manning of Philadelphia, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mrs. Manning in death were husband, Therell S. Manning; son, Wendell Manning; and brothers, Hubert Sisson and Brealon Sisson.

Pallbearers are Billy Vowell, Glenn Sisson, Caden Stuart, John Brady Stuart, Warren Deweese, Tim Boatner and Derek Wyatt.
