Lowe’s helps evacuees from Louisiana

A Lake Charles, La., family who evacuated to Kemper County was in the Philadelphia Lowe's last week stocking up on supplies to donate to their storm-ravaged community after a direct hit by Hurricane Laura when they got the surprise of their lives.

They had evacuated to their Kemper County hunting camp and were in Philadelphia on Friday planning to head back first thing Saturday to see what was left after the Category 4 storm hit Thursday.

“We stocked up on tarps, water, cleaning supplies, trash bags, gloves, gas cans, flashlights, batteries, buckets ect. to bring back for families in need after hurricane Laura destroyed our beautiful city of Lake Charles,” Tristin Prince posted on Facebook Friday.

She went on to tell that as they were checking out and their bill total had gotten to over $3,000. They were getting ready to insert their credit card to pay and the manager stepped in to say that Lowe's had taken care of the bill.

“We immediately all started balling,” she wrote. “God is SO SO GOOD & FAITHFUL
