The Leake Academy girls added two more wins to their already impressive total while boys coach Phil Shepard picked up his 800th career win last week.

The Rebelettes took a pair of blowout wins as they hammered Winston 69-29 and Simpson 82-47.

The Leake boys gave Shepard his 800th win with a 46-41 victory over Winston on Tuesday before falling 66-34 to Simpson on Friday.

Leake will return to action this week as they continue district play and host Park Place on Tuesday and travel to Lamar on Friday.

Rebelettes 69

Winston 29

The Rebelettes dominated the first half and cruised to a 40-point win in district play on Tuesday.

Leake led 25-12 at the end of the first and then outscored Winston 27-8 in the second and led 52-20 at the half. Leake then outscored Winston 13-3 in the third while the Lady Patriots took the fourth 6-4 for the final margin.

Leake shot 63% from the field on 28-of-44 shooting. Miriam Prince had 21 points and seven steals, while Katye Jones had 13 points. Morgan Freeny had 9 points, five steals and four assists, while Natalee Vaugh had 8 points. Emeri Warren had 7 points and four rebounds.

The Rebels rallied in the fourth period and held on to take a 5-point win over the Patriots despite a poor shooting night from the floor.

Winston led 8-6 at the end of the first before Leake outscored the Patriots 14-7 in the second to take a 20-15 lead at the half. But Winston then outscored Leake 15-9 in the third to take a 31-29 lead into the fourth. But the Rebels then outscored the Patriots 17-11 in the fourth to take the win.

Samuel Prince led Leake with 21 points, while Gavin White had 9 points. Aiden Watkins also chipped in 6 points.

Simpson 47

The Rebelettes improved to 22-2 on the season as they outscored the Lady Cougars in every period.

Leake had another big first half as they outscored Simpson 28-13 in the first and 23-18 in the second to lead 51-31 at the half. Leake Academy continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Simpson 19-11 in the third and 12-5 in the fourth to take the win.

Leake had another good shooting night, going 29-of-52 from the field and 14-of29 from 3-point range. Miriam Prince led Leake with 26 points and eight assists, while Morgan Freeny had 20 points. Emeri Warren had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, along with five steals and three assists. Katye Jones had 9 points, five rebounds and four steals, while Grace Maxey had 9 points. Allen Kaye Wilcox also had 6 points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Rebels fell behind early, and the Cougars took a 32-point win on Friday night.

Simpson jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the first period and then outscored Leake 28-6 in the second to lead 46-6 at the half. Leake outscored Simpson 17-7 in the third while the Cougars took the fourth period 13-11 for the final margin.

Samuel Prince led Leake with 7 points while Lucas Thomas had 4 points.
