Funeral services for Laura Tew Mason were held at John E. Stephens Chapel at 11 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2022. Interment followed at the Linwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Mike Skinner officiated. 

She is survived by her husband, Carl Mason; her son, Barry Mason (Lisa); and her grandchildren, Matthew Mason (Mary), Cody Mason (Kayla), Morgan Reeves (Tyler), Lee Harrison (Chloe), and 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 nieces, Karen Lea and Stacy McDonald (Kline), who were very special to her.

Laura was born and raised in Philadelphia, MS. She pursued her career as a federal employee by working for the USDI, Bureau of Indian Affairs; U.S. Air Force; USDI, Fish and Wildlife Service; USDA, Farmers Home Administrations; and she retired at the USDA, Plant Materials Center in Coffeeville, Mississippi.

After retiring, Laura returned to Neshoba County and devoted her life to caring for her family and teaching youth and children at her church. Her hobbies included family genealogy, quilting and preserving food from her garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Lauraine Tew and her brother Dorman Tew.

Pallbearers were some of the young men she taught at Linwood Baptist Church: Eli Brown, Noah Renfrow, Rory Renfrow, Samuel Spears, William Jay Brown, and Wyatt Gore.
