The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors rolled up a pair of Region 4-4A victories last week while the Warriors boys team split.

The Lady Warriors defeated Leake Central 79-65 and Northeast Lauderdale 68-21. The Choctaw Central boys lost a 45-44 overtime decision to Leake Central, but bounced back to defeat Northeast Lauderdale 62-50.

The Choctaw Central teams have three games this week. They were to visit Louisville on Tuesday and host Kosciusko on Friday. On Saturday, both teams compete in the Choctaw County Shootout in Ackerman. The Lady Warriors will play Booneville at 7 p.m. while the Warriors play Choctaw County at 8:30 p.m.

The Warriors enter the week with a 17-3 overall record and 2-2 in the region standings. The Lady Warriors come in at 16-3 overall and 4-0 in the region.

Kyla Farmer scored 30 points to lead the Choctaw Central Lady Warriors past Leake Central.

The Lady Warriors led 23-15 after the first quarter, They outpointed the Lady Gators 17-11 in the second quarter and led 40-26 at the half. The second half was closer with both teams hitting their shots. Choctaw Central outscored Leake Central 17-15 in the third quarter abd ked 57-41 at the half, Leake Central outscored the Lady Warriors 24-22 in the final quarter.

Mattison Bell and Kylinn Bell both scored 14 points for the Lady Warriors.

 There were no details available for the Lady Warriors’ game with Northeast Lauderdale.

Leake Central outscored the Warriors 6-5 in overtime to take the one-point win.

Choctaw Central led 14-9 after the first quarter. The Gators outpointed the Warriors 9-8 in the second quarter. At the half, Choctaw Central led 22-18. Leake Central outpointed the Warriors 12-7 in the third quarter and carried a 34-25 lead into the final quarter. Choctaw Central battled back to tie the game at 39-39 as regulation ended. The Gators then took the win in overtime,

Thomas Tangle led with 11 points while Elias Bell, Johnny Vaughn and Hayden Jones all scored 10 points.

Choctaw Central took the lead in the third quarter and held on to defeat Northeast Lauderdale.

The Trojans led 11-7 after the first quarter. The Warriors came back in the second quarter to outpoint Northeast Lauderdale 14-12, The Trojans led 23-19 at the half.

Choctaw Central put in 17 points in the third quarter while holding the Trojans to eight, and carried a 36-31 lead into the final quarter,  The Warriors outscored the Gators 24-19 in the final quarter.

Tangle led with 17 points. Vaughn and Jones both scored 12 points while Abram Cotton put in 10 points.
