Lady Rockets’ softball rebounds with 14-2 win

The Neshoba Central Lady Rockets got back on the winning track last week after taking their first loss since 2019.

The Lady Rockets entered the week with a 9-1 record. They played four games last week. They started by defeating West Harrison 8-0 and Taylorsville 8-4. They dropped a 1-0 decision to Northwest Rankin and then bounced back to beat Enterprise 14-2.

The Lady Rockets were to play Choctaw Central on Monday. On Friday, they will be in the South Jones tournament. They will play Hernando at 5 p.m. and South Jones at 7 p.m.

West Harrison 0

Neshoba Central pounded out 12 hits in their win over West Harrison.

The Lady Rockets scored one in the first, two in the third, two in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Lanayah Henry was the winning pitcher. She helped her cause at the plate by nailing two hits and knocking in a run.

Sa’Nya Jackson hit a home run and recorded three RBIs. Hama’ya Fielder hit a double and a single. She scored two runs. Mauhree Jones hit a double. Dakota Williamson had two hits and a RBI.Mya Willis had two hits.

Taylorsville 4

Neshoba Central outhit Taylorsville 8-4 as they defeated Taylorsville.

The Lady Rockets scored four in the second and four in the fourth. Taylorsville answered with one in the first, two in the fourth and one in the sixth,

Jones was the winning pitcher. Jones helped her cause with a home run and two RBIs.

Charmayne Morris hit a triple, a double and a single. She scored one run and knocked in three RBIs. Henry hit two doubles and scored a run. Jackson and Mya Willis both hit a double.

Northwest Rankin 1

Lady Rockets 0

Northwest Rankin scored the only run of the game in the fifth inning and held on for the win.

Henry took the pitching loss. Henry and Willis had the Lady Rockets’ only two hits.

Lady Rockets 14

Enterprise 2

Tenly Grisham blasted four hits to lead the Lady Rockets past Enterprise.

Grisham scored four runs and knocked in another.

Jones was the winning pitcher. She hit a single and knocked in three runs. Morris had two doubles. Willis hit a double and a single and Erica Lyons hit a double,
