Lady Rockets improve to 4-0 with wins over Lake, Choctaw

Kylie Posey knocked in two runs in the bottom of the sixth to lift the Neshoba Central Lady Rockets to a 5-3 win over Lake in fast-pitch softball last week.

The Lady Rockets also took a 22-2 victory over Choctaw Central Monday night.

Elleigh Willis was the winning pitcher in the Lake game.

Neshoba Central scored one in the first, one in the third and three in the sixth. Lake scored one in the second and two in the fourth.

Charmayne Morris hit a triple while Annaleigh Jones, Tenly Grisham, Willis, Posey, Lanayah Henry, and Kylee Thompson all managed one hit to lead Neshoba Central.

The Lady Rockets took control of their game with Choctaw Central with four runs in the first and 10 in the second. The Choctaw Central team was making its first appearance since basketball ended last week.

Elleigh Willis was the winning pitcher. She had six strike outs. Toni Henry took the pitching loss.

Kyla Thompson hit a double and a single for the Lady Rockets. She scored two runs and knocked in another. Willis and Posey both hit a double. Grisham hit a triple and a single. She scored two runs and knocked in two more. Mauhree Jones hit a single while scoring two runs and knocking in two more. Lanayah Henry hit a single, scored three runs and knocked in two more. Shante’ Beaulieu scored two runs.

Leia Phillips hit a single, scored a run and knocked in another for Choctaw Central. 

Neshoba Central will be back in action Friday when they compete in the West Harrison tournament. Choctaw Central was to take on Kosciusko Tuesday, Northeast Lauderdale on Thursday and will take on Ethel next Monday.
