The Leake Academy Lady Rebels reeled off three more wins.

The Lady Rebels improved to 15-0 on the season as they opened the week with district play by pounding East Rankin 59-24. The Lady Rebels grabbed another district win on Friday night, beating Starkville Academy 48-33 and then finished out the week with a 56-31 win over Jackson Prep.

The Rebels won one of its three games, beating East Rankin 53-47 while falling 54-20 to Starkville and 62-37 to Jackson Prep.

Leake will return to action on Thursday in their only scheduled game of the week as they travel to Canton.



Lady Rebels 59

East Rankin 24

The Lady Rebels dominated the first period and cruised to a 35-point win to open district play on Tuesday.

Leake started quick as they led 24-2 at the end of the first and outscored the Lady Patriots 14-11 in the second to lead 38-13 at the half. Leake continued to expand its lead in the third, outscoring East Rankin 17-5 in the third to lead 55-18 going into the third.

Miriam Prince led Leake with 14 points while Emeri Warren had 10 points. Emmi Harkins had nine points while Mabry Mayfield had six points and five rebounds. Landy Turner also had six points while Ashley Smith had three steals and Laura Katherine Clair pulled down five rebounds.

East Rankin 47

The Rebels jumped ahead early and held on to take a six-point win over the Patriots.

Leake led 14-6 at the end of the first and 22-20 at the half. Leake outscored East Rankin 20-15 in the third and led 42-35 going into the fourth.

Henry Dabbs led Leake with 16 points while Ben Harrison had 10 points. Whitt Welch had seven and Cole Arthur added six.

Starkville Academy 33

The Lady Rebels closed strong to take a 15-point win over the Lady Volunteer on Friday.

Leake led 14-5 at the end of the first but Starkville outscored the Lady Rebels 16-9 in the second to cut the lead to 23-21 at the half. Leake outscored Starkville 15-12 in the third to lead 38-33 going into the fourth. Leake outscored Starkville 10-0 in the fourth to take the win.

Leake Academy was just 14-of-53 from the field and 6-of-29 from the 3-point line. Miriam Prince led Leake with 21 points and three assists while Emmi Harkins had nine points and two steals. Mabry Mayfield had eight points and 10 rebounds while Ashley Smith had eight points and five rebounds.

The Volunteers outscored the Rebels in every period and cruised to a 24-point win over the Rebels.

Starkville led 13-4 at the end of the first and 28-7 at the half. Starkville outscored Leake 11-10 in the third and 13-3 in the fourth for the final margin.

Ben Harrison led Leake with 12 points.

After a slow start, the Lady Rebels got going in the second half and took a 25-point win over the Lady Patriots on Saturday.

Leake led 9-5 at the end of the first and 20-11 at the half. Leake Academy got going in the third period, outscoring Jackson Prep 23-11 to lead 43-22 going into the fourth. Leake outscored Prep 13-9 in the fourth for the final margin.

Leake made 12 3-pointers in the game, including seven from Miriam Prince who had 25 points, three rebounds and three assists. Emmi Harkins had 13 points, four rebounds and three steals while Ashley Smith had seven points and three assists. Mabry Mayfield also had seven rebounds while Emeri Warren had four rebounds.

The Patriots outscored the Rebels in every period and took a 25-point win on Saturday.

Prep jumped out to a 23-7 lead in the first period and led 41-17 at the half. Prep continued to extend the lead in the third, outscoring Leake 59-26 at the end of the their.

Hagan Pike led Leake with nine points while Henry Dabbs had eight and Ben Harrison chipped in five.
