The Leake Academy softball team saw its season come to an end this weekend.

The Lady Rebels lost two out of three games in the North 5A Tournament on Saturday. After beating Pillow 9-6 to open the tournament, Leake lost 8-2 to Magnolia Heights and 9-6 to Bayou Academy.

Leake finishes with a 13-8 record.

Leake 9, Pillow 6

The Lady Rebels overcame a slow start and took a three-run win over the Lady Mustangs on Saturday to open the North 5A Tournament.

Pillow scored four in the first and Leake answered with two. Pillow added one in the second before Leake scored four in the second and led 6-5 Pillow. Pillow tied it up with one in the third before Leake finished with one in the fifth and two in the sixth. 

Leake had 11 hits in the contest, led by Emeri Warren who was 2-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Miley Billie was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Marleigh Myers was 2-for-3 while Emmajane Lepard scored three runs. Lily McDonald also doubled and walked twice.

K.K. Goodin started and went one inning and gave up five runs on six hits while Raylea Atkinson came in and picked up the win, going six innings and giving up one run on four hits.

Magnolia Heights 8, Leake 2

The Lady Chieftains used a pair of big innings to take a six-run win over the Lady Rebels in a winner’s bracket game on Saturday.

Leake scored first with one in the first  while Magnolia Heights scored four in the third, one in the fourth and three in the sixth. 

Leake had eight hits in the contest as Emeri Warren and Lily McDonald each went 2-for-3 while Miley Billie also doubled and scored a run.

K.K. Goodin pitched all six innings and gave up eight runs on 12 hits, including three home runs while she struck out two and walked two.

Bayou 9, Leake 6

The Lady Colts took a late lead and the win to eliminate the Lady Rebels in a loser’s bracket contest on Saturday.

Leake scored one in the second and six thing innings and two in the fourth and fifth. Leake led 6-5 before Bayou scored four in the sixth to take the win. 

Leake outhit Bayou 13-8 in the contest as Emmajane Lepard was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Emeri Warren was 2-for-4 with a double while Lily McDonald was 2-for-4 as well. Raylea Atkinson and Marleigh Myers each had two hits while Olivia Rudolph also doubled. 

Atkinson started in the circle and gave up nine runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four.

Leake 18, East Rankin 1

The Lady Rebels broke the game open with two big innings to take a run-rule win over the division champions on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first, East Rankin scored one in the top of the second. Leake then scored three in the second, nine in the third and six in the fourth.

The Lady Rebels had 11 hits and took advantage of four walks, four hit batted and three errors. Emeri Warren was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and four RBIs while Lily McDonald was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Miley Billie was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while K.K. Goodin was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Raylea Atkinson singled and scored three runs while Grace Maxey scored three runs and stole two bases. Emmajane Lepard singled and scored two runs while Ella Bell also had two runs. 

Goodin pitched all five innings and gave up one unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out three.

Leake 18, Park Place 0

The Lady Rebels allowed only one hit and took a three-inning, run-rule win over the Lady Crusaders in the second game of the doubleheader on Monday.

Leake scored 11 in the first, six in the second and one in the third.

Leake had 14 hits as Miley Biley was 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored, five RBIs and a grand slam home run. Grace Maxey was 2-for-2 with a double, home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Emmajane Lepard was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. K.K. Goodin was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs while Caroline Cheatham was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Emeri Warren scored three runs while Lily McDonald doubled and scored two runs.

Goodin started in the circle and pitched all three innings, giving up just one hit while striking out four.

Leake 15, Park Place 1

The Lady Rebels used an 11-run second inning to cruise to a run-rule win over the Lady Crusaders on Monday.

Park Place scored one in the first while Leake answered with four in the first and 11 in the second.

Leake had 15 hits in the contest. Lily McDonald was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and five RBIs while Caroline Cheatham was 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Emeri Warren was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs while Grace Maxey and Raylea Atkinson were each 2-for-3. Miley Billie and Emmajane Lepard each singled and scored two runs while Olivia Rudolph tripled and scored two runs.

Atkinson pitched the first three innings and gave up one unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out four. Kylee Boykin pitched the last inning and gave up one hit.
