Lady Rebels sit at 4-4 on season

The Leake Academy Lady Rebels split four games last week on the high school softball fields.

Leake, now 4-4 on the season, will return to play this week as they host Wayne on Monday and Park Place on Tuesday. They will then play in the MRA Tournament at Liberty Park on Saturday.

Leake 15, Clinton Christian 0

The Lady Rebels banged out 10 hits and took advantage of seven errors in a three-inning run-rule win on Monday.

Leake had 10 hits in the contest, led by Marleigh Myers who was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs while Codi Breedlove was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Lily McDonald was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Raylee Quick was 2-for-2 and scored two runs while Sydney Jones singled and scored twice. Maggie Winstead also scored twice.

Kylee Boykin pitched three innings and gave up one hit and two walks while striking out four.

Simpson 12, Leake 0

The Lady Rebels only had one hit as the Lady Cougars took a shutout win in district play on Tuesday.

Leake had just one hit, a double by Lily McDonald, and also committed eight errors in the field.

Kylee Boykin pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up 12 runs with only three earned as she gave up eight hits and two walks.

Leake 10, St. Aloysius 2

The Lady Rebels banged out 12 hits and took an eight-run win over the Lady Flashes on Saturday.

Leake had 12 hits in the contest. Kylee Boykin was 3-for-3 with two doubles while Lily McDonald was 2-for-3 with two doubles. Sydney Jones doubled and scored while Zoe Shephard tripled and drove in two runs. Brealynn Malone was 2-for-3 and scored twice while Alivia Gill singled and drove in three runs. Raylee Quick also singled and drove in two runs.

Boykin pitched five innings and gave up two runs on three hits while striking out four to pick up the win.

Jackson Prep 8, Leake 2

Marleigh Myers was 2-for-3 while Lily McDonald had a solo home run. Kylee Boykin also singled and drove in a run.

Raylee Quick pitched all six innings and gave up eight runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out five.
