It was a busy week for the Leake Academy basketball teams as both teams played three games last week.

The Rebelettes improved to 9-0 on the season as they took a 54-37 win over Pillow Academy, a 54-48 win over Central Hinds and a 63-20 win over Oak Hill.

The Rebels opened their season with an 89-63 win over Pillow and then fell 72-52 to Central Hinds. The Rebels then finished the week with a 72-26 win over Oak Hill.

Leake is scheduled to host Columbus Christian on Tuesday and Starkville on Thursday. During the Thanksgiving break, they will play on Monday and Tuesday at East Rankin. Leake will play Brookhaven on Monday at noon and then the boys will play at 1:15 p.m. On Tuesday, Leake will play Copiah at noon and the boys will follow at 1:15 p.m

Leake girls 54, Pillow 37

The Rebelettes dominated the middle two periods and took a 17-point win over the Lady Mustangs on Tuesday.

Pillow jumps out to a 16-9 lead in the first period before Leake got rolling in th4e second period. The Rebelettes then outscored the Lady Mustangs 20-3 in the second period to take a 29-19 lead at the half. Leake took the third period 8-7 before outscoring Pillow 17-11 in the fourth to take the win.

Jenna Allen led Leake with 20 points, making 5-of-8 from the 3-point line while pulling down five rebounds. Sarah Prince had 17 points while Anna Morgan Younghad eight points and three rebounds. Addie Crowe had six points and four rebounds while Marleigh Myers led Leake with eight rebounds.

Leake boys 89, Pillow 63

The Rebels jumped ahead early and took a 26-point win over the Mustangs to start their season.

Leake started fast and outscored Pillow 25-8 in the first period and 21-20 in the second and led 46-28 at the half.

Samuel Prince had a career-high 40 points while Carter Seal had 18 points. Taite Edwards also had 15 points in the contest.

Leake girls 54, Central Hinds 48

The Rebelettes built a first-half lead and held on to take a tight six-point win over the Lady Cougars on Thursday.

Jenna Allen led Leake with 15 points and three rebounds while Addie Crowe had 13 points and three steals. Marleigh Myers had seven points and three rebounds while Sarah Prince had six points and four rebounds. Kylee Boykin have five points while Anna Morgan Young had three points, four rebounds and three steals. Caroline heather had three points, three rebounds and four assists.

Central Hinds boys 72, Leake 52

The Cougars started fast and held on to that lead as they took a 20-point win over the Rebels on Thursday.

Central Hinds jumped out to a 27-11 lead in the first half before Leake took the second period 20-11 to cut the lead to 38-31 at the half. Central Hinds then outscored Leake 14-13 in the third and pulled away in the fourth 20-8 to take the win.

Samuel Prince led Leake with 32 points while Taite Edwards had 12 points.

Leake girls 63, Oak Hill 20

The Rebelettes outscored the Lady Raiders in every period to take an easy 43-point win on Saturday.

Leake led 15-3 at the end of the first and then outscored Oak Hill 26-3 in the second period to lead 41-6 at the half. With a running clock in the second half, Leake outscored Oak Hill 10-5 in the third and 12-9 in the fourth.

Sarah Prince and Anna Morgan Young each had 13 points while Jenna Allen had 11 points. Marleigh Myers also had six points.

Leake boys 72, Oak Hill 26

The Rebels dominated the first three period and cruised to a 46-point win over the Raiders on Saturday.

Leake dominated the first half and outscored Oak Hill 25-9 in the first and 21-7 in the second to lead 46-16 at the half. Leake got the clock running in the second half, outscoring Oak Hill 19-3 in the third to lead 65-19 going to the fourth.

Samuel Prince led Leake with 23 points while Carter Seal had 10 points. Gage Warren, Taite Edwards and Eli Cantrell each had nine points.
