It was a fun filled weekend for Kara Daly, a sophomore at the University of Southern Mississippi who flew to Columbus, Ohio, to attend Anchor Academy for her Delta Gamma sorority recently.

Kara enjoyed meeting members of the DG sisterhood from other universities and learning about different aspects of the sorority on a higher level.  It was Kara’s first plane trip which made it even more special.

Her parents are Gina Daly and Doug Daly and grandparents are Pat and Jo Helen Daly.

After dodging rain and snowstorms, along with icy highways in Nevada, California, and Oregon, Tommy and Ginny Williams recently returned from their 24 day adventure.

Their adventure began after they met their son, Jeremy, at his house in Flagstaff, Arizona, and following him, they set out for a two-week stay in Ashland, Oregon.

Ashland was a strategic location for taking weekend trips to see the fabulous California redwood trees and the coastal beaches in California and Oregon. They made a very special trip to Bend, Oregon, to visit Ginny's relatives and her uncle who is one of the few remaining December 7 Pearl Harbor survivors.

The landscapes they saw along the way were spectacular, tall evergreen trees laden with heavy blankets of glistening white snow, gigantic redwoods, magnificent mountains, snowbanks along the cleared highways, beautiful beaches, and so many other memorable sights. In Nevada there were wild burros crossing the street  and stopping traffic in a town!

On the way to Flagstaff, Tommy and Ginny stopped for lunch in Gallup, New Mexico, at the iconic El Rancho Hotel which was once the hub for movie stars who were filming in the Redrocks and the area around the city. It was special to me, because that is where I worked one summer while I was at UNM. It was a fun summer and I met Romily there several years later in the restaurant when he first arrived in Gallup from Memphis! Long story.

The Williams trio had a wonderful trip and made many memories to cherish, but probably the best part was being together.

The Neshoba Central High School JR Navy ROTC recently traveled to Baton Rouge for the Navy JROTC Area - B Super Drill Meet.

This is a historical milestone for the Rocket program. It was the first time in the 22 year existence of the program that they have competed in all Area-8 championship meets during the competitive year. Neshoba was one of only five Aarea-8 programs to accomplish this out of 60 Area-8 units. Congratulations!

The Red Carpet was rolled out for guests at the Father Daughter Banquet at Trinity Baptist Church last weekend. Handsome fathers wearing their best suits proudly escorted their beautiful daughters who wore pretty party dresses.

It was a wonderful evening for these daddy-daughter duos to spend time together in the church hall which had been lovingly decorated to transform it into a Red Carpet event. This annual activity is something the girls look forward to with excitement all year.
