The invitation read: "Let's taco 'bout' love!” Join us to celebrate Gabi Sparnecht and Dylon Fanning on Saturday, July 23rd 6:30PM Neshoba County Fair, Cabin #404."

The event was a wedding shower for Gabi and Dylon during the Fair at the Sparnecht cabin. The cabin was cheerfully decorated in a fiesta theme with bunches of brightly colored balloons greeting the guests as they came onto the porch. The theme was carried out inside the cabin with serapes used as runners down the serving tables and faux cactus plants as an added touch. It was such a happy setting.

Instead of gifts the guests were asked to "pack your pesos to drop in the Honeymoon Fund." A special wooden box was set up on one of the tables to drop in the pesos. Family and friends were served tacos, cold drinks, and other tasty dishes. The couple was happy to have them celebrate their approaching marriage. Congratulations!

The Pearl River Resort was excited to have the sensational "Chapel Hart" trio staying with them during Fair week. The Poplarville, Mississippi, trio made its world debut on the "America's Got Talent" television show   recently where they received a unanimous Golden Buzzer!

The talented young women were on the Thacker Mountain Radio Hour Saturday evening at the Neshoba County Fair where they met many of their fans and posed for pictures with the excited Fairgoers. Pearl River Resort sponsors the Radio Hour at the Fair and was happy to host the popular singers.

Four days of Fair fun were held at the Holland House hosted by Joyce Dansby for anyone who enjoys playing card games or borrowing jigsaw puzzles from her collection.

There were groups who played "Sevens,” a card game that requires concentration and an ability to add  a lot of numbers. Others played bridge which is another game requiring some concentration, but the scores do not reach as high as the Sevens game.

Coffee and cold beverages were served and a brown bag lunch was available along with snacks. It was such a fun time! Thank you to Joyce for providing the opportunity to enjoy "Fair Bridge"!

Congratulations to Annie Kate White and Cat Man Blue who "cleaned house" with 222 points to claim the leaderboard in the National Cutting Horse Association's Holy Cow Performance Horses at the Junior World Finals Cutting Horse Association World Competition in Fort Worth Texas recently. Annie Kate loves to ride and won the honor of participating in the World Finals in earlier competitions.  She is the daughter of William and Leigh Ann Hatcher White.

Philadelphia Public School District kicked off its back to school "beginning year activities" with an ice cream social. Dr. Shana Whitehead, the new superintendent of the district thought it would be a wonderful way to meet teachers as the faculty "Powers Up" for the new school year. The event was a great success, especially in the high temperatures that have prevailed lately.

As one teacher commented, "The best time for ice cream is always!" Welcome, Dr. Whitehead!
