The expression, "A picture is worth a thousand words," was certainly true when Mr. John Burt, Sr. looked at his phone on Wednesday, June 22 to find a picture of his new great-grandson, Pullen James Fulton! Mr. Burt's face broke into a huge smile and radiated happiness.

He had no idea that a new baby was being born into the Burt family that day because he worries so much. After Pullen was born, Lee Ann Fulton sent a picture of the baby with his mother, Chelsea Fulton to his phone. His son, John Burt, told Mr. Burt to check his phone and took a picture of his father looking at the picture. It was priceless!

Pullen James Fulton weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces of perfect sweetness. His parents are Coker and Chelsea Fulton and his big brother is Gunner Fulton. Congratulations!

White coats are a very big deal in medical school. Students get short white coats when they start their M1 year Then they spend two years studying and learning more about the human body than they thought was humanly possible! At last in the third year of medical school, they get to see patients. However, before they start, they get another white coat, but this one has their name on it.

The personalized white coats are given out during a ceremony before their M3 year begins. Recently the Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship Program held a white coat ceremony for the students who have reached this stage in medical school. The final step is a long white coat worn by those who graduate from medical school.

Among those receiving a personalized white coat was Brooke Winstead of Neshoba County. Brooke has a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi but decided to pursue her dream of becoming a physician. Her very proud and supportive husband is Tanner Winstead. Congratulations!
