We said goodbye to our daughter, Candler Foster, and our granddog, Abbie, who had been with us since January 30. They left on Thursday for Jackson to meet Bert at the airport and their return to Dallas. .

She came on Sunday to stay while I had surgery for a large blood clot in my iliac vein on Monday. It was supposed to be an overnight stay and home, but I had to stay another night and day. Her husband came on Monday and they spent a week taking care of Romily and me. He had to leave, but Candler stayed and worked from home. Due to a severe and painful case of cellulitis on my leg, she stayed longer than we anticipated.

She was absolutely amazing. I could not have asked for a better caregiver. We know she is capable, but had no idea how awesome she is. Her uncle said, " I guess we can let her cross the street by herself now." We love her absolutely and are so proud of her. We miss her and Abbie.

I appreciate all of the prayers, and many acts of kindness from my friends so very much. I am a believer in the power of prayer. It really helped. Thank you to each and every one of you.
