One of Philadelphia's favorite couples celebrated a milestone anniversary recently.  Mundy and Carole Dees Breazele have been married for 57 wonderful years on November 27.  Seven years ago they went on a cruise to Nova Scotia to celebrate their Golden Anniversary and the years have flown by to their 57th.

The Breazeles feel blessed to have had this much time together with their four children and, now, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. It has been a wonderful 57 years.  Congratulations!

Romily and I spent a week in Dallas for Thanksgiving with our daughter, Candler, and son-in-law, Bert Foster, in their home. My brother, Ronald Grenko, came from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to join us.

We had a wonderful time being together again in Dallas after four years absence. The past years were spent with us in Philadelphia due to Romily's health and the pandemic. It had been two years since I had seen my brother who could not come because of the pandemic.

Abbie, our grand dog, was thrilled with the extra attention from three more people. Her tail wagged so often, I thought it might fall off!  We did all of the things we enjoy, going to dinner at our favorite places, shopping, visiting, and just being together.  Thanksgiving was spent watching football games while we waited for our dinner and the Egg Bowl. Bert cooked smoked pork for dinner on Friday and I was impressed with the results which we shared with some friends who came over.

I was very thankful to be with them again. The years seem to go by so quickly that each one is even more precious as we celebrate holidays. We made new memories and reminisced on days gone by.

Trinity Baptist Church was the setting for a baby shower honoring Bethany Morgan Chunn recently. Since the baby will be a boy, the church hall was appropriately decorated in a baby boy theme. The gift table was covered in a blue cloth with large blocks spelling out the word "Baby" across the center.  Food on the refreshment table was served on slices of tree trunks.. A mounted squirrel sitting on a tree trunk tray with forest greenery and small stuffed animals added a special touch to the table. It was so clever! Eli and Bethany Morgan Chunn were delighted with the many thoughtful gifts they received.

Congratulations to Grace Easley, a member of the Lady Tornadoes basketball team, for being selected as Player of the Week. She was honored by Mattie Hudson, Philadelphia's State Farm Agent.

Alexander Menchion was honored for his basketball talents as Player of the Week for the Tornadoes team. Both players were given commemorative T-shirts by Mattie Hudson. This is such a nice gesture of support for our local schools.
