There was something special about Lideatrick "Tulu" Griffen's Mississippi State Bulldog football uniform that he wore for the Bulldog's game against the University of Memphis Tigers on September 18. His white towel bore the number 25 in black numerals honoring a former Bulldog who had recently passed from COVID-19. Tyler Threadgill, like Tulu, played for the Philadelphia Tornadoes football team and graduated from Philadelphia High School.

He was an outstanding high school and MSU football player whose passing left a huge hole in the hearts of his family and those who knew him. He was an extraordinary person, filled with kindness and caring with a sense of humor.

Thank you to Mississippi State Bulldogs and Tulu for this touching memorial to this beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend.

Bishop Clifton Jones celebrated his 81st birthday on Saturday, September 18th with the help of his family and his church family.

A huge colorful "Happy Birthday Bishop" sign on the lawn in front of the Jerusalem Temple Church brightened up the area with all of its colorful birthday decorations painted on it. There were a Bible, praying hands, a slogan saying, "Pray more,, Worry less", blue stars, various colors of balloons, the number 81 perched above his name, and other happy symbols displayed across the entire sign.

There was a large crowd in attendance for this happy occasion! Happy Birthday!

The Philadelphia Tornadoes football team needs new helmets for the new season. Helmets are very durable, but even the best ones eventually wear out. In order to help the team buy new helmets, Mrs. Nash with Community in Action donated money for this cause.  It was a wonderful gesture of support for the school! Thank you Mrs. Nash!
