Happy Anniversary to Jim and Martha Whittle who celebrated 57 years of marriage on July 15th! Seven years ago the couple's family and friends enjoyed a celebration of their Golden Anniversary of 50 years.

They are so thankful to have these 7 additional years to enjoy each other, other, their family, and welcoming additions of great grand children.  Martha feels they are so very blessed. Wishing you many more happy years together!

The Neshoba County Public Library recently concluded its Summer Reading Program 2021 for Preschool-6th graders at the library. The theme this year was "Tails and Tales".

The children were divided into age appropriate groups with Preschoolers attending story time on Wednesdays, and grades 1-6 having activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The program was a huge success and parents were very pleased with the happy, welcoming environment for their children and all of the fun, interesting activities planned for the sessions. What a great way to introduce and maintain a positive library and reading experience! Thank you to everyone who helped with this valuable service to our community's children.

A very precious little girl visited with Joyce and Bobby Hardy on Wednesday afternoon. They were so excited to have their great granddaughter, Olivia Dennis, from Nashville come to see them.

Her great grandfather, Bobby Hardy, took her to see their camp house and the lake where he showed her the scenery in the country. They both enjoyed it.

Liv also met her great grandmother's bridge club members when she stopped for a quick visit and some early hugs. Both grandparents had been looking forward to having her visit them.

Madison Hardy Dennis had come to Philadelphia to judge the Choctaw Indian Princess Contest and brought Liv along to spend some quality time with her great grandparents.  What a marvelous gift for Joyce and Bobby to see both their granddaughter and great granddaughter. They had such fun.

The Philadelphia Police Department issued an invitation to students from all over Neshoba County to their 1st Back to School Bash. Students from Philadelphia, Neshoba Central, and Choctaw Central are welcome to attend on Saturday, 24, 2021, at Northside Park from 10AM to 4PM.

It promises to be a fun filled day with jumpers, basketball, softball, face painting, snow cones, hamburgers, popcorn, hotdogs, and more! FREE backpacks, school supplies and other items will be given away.

Anyone who would like to donate to this worthy cause for our students can drop items off at the Police Department on Main Street or contact them at 601-656-2131. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

Two little girls thought of something really sweet!  The Lemonade Stand was set up on Friday, July 15, at 10AM in front of MG&Co on the Square in Philadelphia. Bailey Jay served lemonade and Liz Lyle served cookies to passersby. All items were free - donations only!

All of the money they raised together will go to the Beds for Kids Ministry happening in Neshoba County.  The girls focused on using the funds to purchase beds-in-a-bag and Bibles for children.

I found this touched my heart. Children helping children and learning values through an experience approach which will make a lasting impression on them.  Wonderful parenting!
