A new chapter began in the life of Blake Sanders when he departed on Tuesday, June 27 for San Antonio, Texas, where he will begin Basic Training in the Air National Guard.

Blake's family celebrated his departure with a "See You in December" gathering of family and friends over the weekend. There were many guests who attended to extend their best wishes and show love and support for him.  Clay, Blake, and their father, Zach, played a final round of golf on Monday at Dancing Rabbit which was a great way to make memories until next time.

Clay Sanders began his pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at Mississippi University for Women in June.  Both Clay and his brother, Blake, have begun pursuing their dreams in life. Their parents are Zachery and Windee Wells Sanders. Congratulations and best wishes to both young men!

Happy Birthday to Mary Fox who celebrated her 93rd birthday on June 27! She is affectionately known as MeMaw Mary by her family who admires her as a beautiful Southern belle whose smile will always light up a room and who loves unconditionally. What a sweet tribute.

The Fifth Wednesday Bridge Club met at The Holland House on June 21 for lunch and bridge. Hostesses for the occasion were Charlene Webb and Alice Rowe. The guests spent time before lunch visiting and enjoying nibbles prepared by Alice Rowe who is an excellent cook.

After a luscious salad lunch and a mouth-watering dessert, everyone chose a tally and went to their tables for several rounds of bridge. It was such a pleasant way to spend a hot summer day. Good food, fun, fellowship, and lots of bridge!

Those attending were Dixie Atkins, Pat Posey, Nancy Williams, Alice Rowe, Carol Oliphant, Ray Fleming, Phoebe Henson, Jean Marshall, Joyce Dansby, Marianne Enochs, Beth Henson, and Sarah Hinkle.

Pashen Thompson and Marcus Dent, Sr. were married in a lovely ceremony on the evening of June 26 before a large group of family and friends. Pastor Andre S Hickman performed the ceremony.

The bride looked beautiful in a long white sleeveless gown with delicate embroidery on the bodice and skirt which swept into a chapel train. She wore a white stylized ornament in her hair and carried a bouquet of spring flowers. A string of pearls and matching earrings completed her ensemble.

A reception was held following the ceremony for all of the guests in a hall that had been lovingly decorated for the occasion. A variety of delicious food was served along with a spectacular wedding cake. The couple departed for a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas

Pashen's mother, Ruby Jean Thompson-Brazzle, and her son, Isaiah Autry, were very special family members among those present.  Congratulations and best wishes for a long life of happiness together!
