The descendants of Ollie and Sadie Hardy held their family reunion on Memorial Day at Bobby and Joyce Hardy’s lake cabin. There were 50 family members who attended.

Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Hardy had nine children, seven of whom are still living. Corinne Hardy Brantley, Bobby Hardy, Jerry Hardy, Nancy Hardy Williams, Narcy Hardy Walker, Jane Hardy, and Linda Hardy Wood are the surviving siblings who enjoy a close relationship with each other. Ovett and J.C. Hardy passed away several years ago.

Corinne, Bobby, Jerry, Nancy, and Jane and their families enjoyed the day. Everyone found something to entertain themselves with, whether it was fishing in the lake, sitting on the spacious porch and visiting, lounging in chairs under the cooking shed, or visiting from group to group. A huge lunch was served with a big variety of luscious dishes prepared by some great cooks.  It was a wonderful reunion!

The Miss Black Neshoba County Pageant was held on June 19 with a group of lovely, excited girls as contestants.

It was a great experience for the contestants because they did not focus on who would win, but instead encouraged and rooted for each other before going onstage. They showed a true example of excellence in character.

The pageant was directed by Angela Tatum Moore and Erica Clemons Moore who were so helpful and volunteered their time. Jordy French won Miss Congeniality; Tkenzie Moore was 2nd Runner Up and Kayleigh Moore was 1st Rimmer Up. Hailey Donald was chosen as Miss Black Neshoba County 2021.

As one person said, “It was a great Juneteenth Celebration.” Congratulations to all of the girls who participated as well as the winners.

Congratulations to Meg Martin who graduated from East Mississippi Community College on June 17.  Commencement ceremonies were held in the Lyceum Auditorium on the Golden Triangle Campus. Graduates of the school's Barber/Stylist and Cosmetology Programs received their diplomas in front of an audience of family and friends.

Meg received an extraordinarily special gift certificate. It was a certificate good for one miniature golden doodle puppy due to arrive on July 10! Her parents, Dr. Craig and Amy Martin, and brothers, Seth and Will, planned this gift which will keep on giving! How fabulous to have a furbaby to look forward to! Her next goal is taking and passing the State Board Exam.

June 11-14 the Mississippi Women's Golf Association held their 2021 Open Tournament on the Oaks Course at Dancing Rabbit. The weather turned beautiful after torrential rains soaked this area in the days prior to the tournament. The golf course was too wet for the ladies to play a practice round on Thursday but the sun shone brightly throughout the three-day tournament. Mary Marshall was thrilled to host the State of Mississippi Senior Women's Golf Champion, Ms Karen Arseneau from Biloxi. Karen and Mary have been dear friends, mah-jongg buddies and prayer warriors for twenty years. Karen finished second in her flight. Congratulations to Karen Arseneau.
