The approaching holidays can be so much more fun when they are shared with children of all ages. Firsts are so special.  Breonna Foster and Dexter Mcgee are looking forward to sharing the holidays with their baby son, Grant Amell Magee, who was seven months old on November 2. His first Thanksgiving and first Christmas promise to be so special for him and his parents. Breonna is such a pleasant and cheerful person.  She obviously adores Grant! She is one of Steve's outstanding employees who are a pleasure to visit with while shopping!

Azaleas are one of the most beautiful flowers in the South. I had never seen one except in a flower pot in a florist until I moved to Louisiana from New Mexico. They were absolutely gorgeous!

We lived on the Chitimacha Reservation where Romily was the principal and I taught in Franklin. Several mornings during the azalea season, a friend would leave a big bouquet of them on the roof of my car. She worked nights and would pass our house on her way home and leave the flowers. She was such a kind and thoughtful person.

This sweet memory came up this week when I saw my friend and down the street neighbor's Encore azaleas blooming profusely. They are so pretty and such a welcome sight in our neighborhood. Carol Oliphant loves to work in her yard and it shows. She has a maple tree with leaves that turn a brilliant red in the fall and when the sun shines on them, they blaze with fiery red color. Thank you for the beauty that I enjoy so much!
