Neshoba Central Parent Teacher Organization maintains a food pantry for elementary school students. Sometimes NCES students cannot bring a snack or may just forget to do so.  The PTO snack pantry provides a light snack for these children at school.

The snack pantry stays well-stocked throughout the school year for all students who need its resources. Donations from the community are always welcome. On October 20, Mr. Grover Vining and the Masonic Lodge made a donation to the snack pantry. The PTO extends a huge thank you for this generous contribution which is greatly appreciated. If individuals, organizations, or any businesses would like to donate, please contact the Neshoba Central Elementary School PTO What a wonderful activity for this group to sponsor!

A joyful celebration was held in Greenville on the occasion of a very lovely lady's 90th birthday. Sara Greco Tubertini was honored by her children and family with a weekend of celebrating that culminated on her actual birthday. She is Lolo Tubertini Nowell's mother and has visited Philadelphia many times through the years.

Mrs. Tubertini's four children were all present to mark this awesome event: Lolo Turbertini Nowell, Gay Tubertini Waites, Rick Tubertini, and Ronnie Tubertini along with members of their families. They had a wonderful weekend together.

Happy, Happy Birthday!

Natchez is a charming historic city located on the banks of the Mississippi River. It has a rich history from before the Civil War. Fabulous antebellum homes are located in the city and in the country nearby. It is filled with interesting places to explore, restaurants, antique shops, and all kinds of fun things to see and do.

The Natchez Hot Air Balloon Festival is held in October each year. It is an amazing sight to watch colorful hot air balloons floating above the river with the sunlight reflecting their colors.

Since Emily Crenshaw and her mother, Denise Wilborn Crenshaw, both love history, it seemed a trip to Natchez to celebrate Emily's 24th birthday would be perfect, and it was!

They enjoyed touring several of the antebellum homes, watching the balloons drifting across the sky, visiting the charming shops and admiring the fantastic view of the mighty Mississippi and the amazing bridge that spans it.

One unusual sight was a part of the bridge that had many different locks attached to a railing.  Each lock had two names written on it and was locked onto the bridge. The locks with names were a symbol of a commitment the individuals made to each other.

They attended mass at St. Mary's Cathedral with its famous Basilica. Construction on this structure was begun in 1842 under the auspices of Bishop J.M. Chanche. It is the only church built as a Cathedral in Mississippi.

It was a wonderful weekend with perfect weather to explore this city with its rich history of the early American South.

The Friendly Fish class at Neshoba Central Elementary School celebrated Yellow For Ever Day honoring their friend and classmate, Ever Sam, and to bring awareness to Spina Bifida.  According to Shannon Harrison Posey, "to know her is to love her.  She has the best spirit and personality." The Friendly Fish class teachers are so proud of Ever and her classmates who work so well together as a group of caring children.
