Just Among Friends

The University of Oklahoma had its Spring Combine weekend in Norman, Oklahoma recently. Ruby Jean Thompson Brazzle really wanted to see her grandson, Isaiah, who is a student at OU and a member of the Sooners football team, and an academic standout, and also to watch the Combine.

Her family made it happen for her! It was a long drive, but it was worth it to her family to see her happiness. Wearing her bright red Oklahoma OU sweatshirt, Ruby greeted her many friends whose sons or grandsons are members of the Sooners team and of course, her favorite Sooner Isaiah. There were several friends and family members from Mississippi who were also in Norman for the excitement and to support him. His parents, Marcus and Pashen Thompson Dent, engineered the trip with help from friends and family. Memories were made that will never fade for Ruby and something great to reminisce about when she is back in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Elementary School students hunted eggs and celebrated Hopping into Reading last week. Each student received two books kicking off the extended weekend with their families and friends during a fun-filled day!

Last week, the Philadelphia High School Class of 2025 came together for a special “Bonified” Senior Breakfast. Thank you to Mrs. Kim Boler for the delicious food!
