The teachers and staff at Philadelphia Elementary School celebrated Rebecca Prince Oubre with a baby shower after school last Wednesday. A refreshment table with a bulletin board decorated with flowers and a bumblebee, a butterfly and the words, “Wittle Love Bug is on the Way” in colorful letters was behind it. A selection of finger foods was served as a great after school snack with punch. Rebecca opened her many gifts with exclamations of delight and showed them off to her guests

The Ladies of the Cross from Holy Cross Catholic Church gave a bridal shower for Darcy Burgess, fiancé of Eli Moran, on Sunday afternoon in the parish hall. Due to the extreme weather conditions on Saturday, the date was changed to Sunday which was a beautiful day.
The hall looked very festive with round tables covered in soft yellow cloths. Each table had a bouquet of different spring flowers as a centerpiece. A variety of delectable dishes were served from a table covered with a yellow cloth and a tall centerpiece of beautiful flowers. Darcey received many gifts which the couple will use to furnish their new home.
Darcey’s mother, Kathleen Burgess, and her two sisters, Quinn and Reagan from Huntsville, Alabama came to enjoy the event.
