Just Among Friends
All of the Neshoba Central Elementary School staff on outside duty last Wednesday were warmed up by the thoughtfulness of Officer Dyron Talbert, who provided them with hot chocolate!
Their hands were kept toasty warm by the kindness of first grader Liz Lyle Humphries and her family, who donated hand warmers for those icy mornings. Thank you for spreading a little bit of warmth and kindness on this extremely cold weekday morning!

Last Friday, the rodeo was in town! The Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association invited all the PES and NCES students to come to watch the rodeo at the Neshoba County Coliseum. The children were so delighted and excited to watch the amazing performances by live performers. Many of the students were dressed up for the occasion in western clothing.
It was a great opportunity for this young audience to participate in a new experience that broadened their frames of reference and added to their reading comprehension. What a great field trip!

Cairo, Egypt, was the ultimate bucket list trip on Don and Ellen Kilgore, which was checked off earlier in January. It did not disappoint them!
They visited the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which re-opened last November after an 11-year delay.
One of the most famous artifacts on display was King Tut's mummy, which is over 3,300 years old and still retains some of his facial features. The age of the items on display is totally astonishing. Egypt had a flourishing civilization thousands of years before the birth of Christ. There were many beautiful objects made of pure gold that retained their beauty, pottery, pictures painted by some artists to honor the Pharaoh and accompany him to the next world as well as other fascinating items. There were several gigantic statues carved of different deities in the area that the Egyptians believed had also stood the passage of time.
Don and Ellen were overawed by the pyramids, statues, and the fascinating history behind all of them. They also rode on camels! It was a unique trip that made memories that will last for many years.

Eighteen years ago, a heartbroken family gave Steve Wilkerson a second chance to live by donating their 18-year-old son’s organs. Through that donation and the grace, mercy, and power of God, Steve is alive today. with a kidney transplant.
He has a granddaughter, Poplar Murphy, who has him wrapped around her finger! He and Jenny Lynn have enjoyed traveling together and celebrating the holidays with her and her two brothers. Each day is a precious gift beyond comparison. Please consider being an organ donor and giving someone else the gift of life.
