Just Among Friends
The new year started off with a huge "first" for five-year-old Madelyn Clearman, who had her 1st haircut at the Pretty in Pink salon! It is a new year and a new look for her. She had 18 inches of hair cut off, but not to worry, she has many more inches left! Her parents are Justin and Mandy Eakes Clearman. Her mother did not cry!

Happy Birthday to Eva McWilliams, who celebrated 87 years on December 31st with her daughter, Jennifer McWilliams Harvey, who planned the party, Cynthia Graham, Essie Graham, Derrick Harvey, Charlene J. McWilliams, and Samantha McWilliams.
The celebration began with dinner at the Bistro and continued at the McWilliams home for a luscious looking three layered cake with pecans on the top layer and a "Happy Birthday" topper completing this tasty confection.

Jackson State University's Sonic Boom of the South performed in the 2025 Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California, on New Year's Day. As usual, their spectacular performance was amazing to watch and hear. Congratulations on a great job!

Precious little Poplar Murphy spent Christmas on Poplar Avenue with her grandparents, Steve and Jenny Lynn Wilkerson, in their Philadelphia home. She was named after the street where her mother, Lacie Wilkerson Murphy, grew up. Cookies for Santa, reindeer food outside in the front yard for the reindeer, and face timing "The Reason for the Season" with her brothers were some of the fun things she enjoyed.
Poplar counted up to the New Year with enthusiasm and cute motions wearing a smile on her face with her parents, Anthony and Lacie Wilkerson Murphy, joining in the happy occasion.

A Girls' Party for LF Eakes brought lots of laughter and fun to the Bo Eakes home on New Year's Eve. The girls sang lustily and enthusiastically, played games and ate. When midnight approached, they put on their Happy New Year tiaras and went outside to join together and greet the New Year.
Mickey Edmisson Williams and her daughter, Lindsey, stayed up while Lelly gave up and crashed early. Bo and Ace went out for some guy time together.

Steve and Deena Dansby celebrated 50 years together on New Year's Eve 2024! It was a fabulous way to welcome in the New Year 2025 as well as a long time to celebrate the New Year together. The couple wishes the same for others, too. Congratulations!

Gaston and Lisa Mallett Barrett's family and friends gathered together in the Barrett home to begin the Christmas holidays. They baked and decorated cookies for Santa, exchanged gifts, listened to the Christmas story, played games, and enjoyed being together.

Happy Birthday to Barney Nowell! He turned 93 years old on Dec. 31! This very special man opened the door to the New Year again and welcomed another year! His children, Guy, Greg, and Karen and their families joined him to celebrate. Barney donned the huge black sombrero at the Mexican restaurant in honor of the occasion as he ate a great birthday dinner!
