Jo Marilyn Houston Willis

Jo Marilyn Houston Willis finally got her wish and joined her beloved husband John in heaven on January 3, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, September 9, 1928, she enjoyed an idyllic Southern childhood with older sister Billie (Culver) and younger brother Bob. A beloved baby brother Gary was later added to the family.  As a teenager, she met a local boy, John, who became the love of her life. Son Greg, and soon after daughter Joni, completed the family. Being the mother of her children was Jo’s calling, and she did everything in her power to see that their early lives were as perfect as possible. John’s career in the petroleum industry took the family from Shreveport to Jackson to Houston, before the couple finally moved back to Shreveport, where John died in 2017. Jo then moved to Georgetown Texas to be close to family. She is survived by son Greg (Lynn Ann), daughter Joni Mulkey (Chuck), grandchildren, Annie Milam, Lee Willis, Shannon Mulkey, and Luke Mulkey, as well as all of her siblings. She is remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister.  As a firm believer in Jesus her Savior, there is no doubt that her soul is now beyond joy. 

A small gathering of remembrance will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Noel Methodist Church, 520 Herndon Street, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101 (please designate Food Pantry Mission) are most appreciated.
