Jerry Clyde Pettie
A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm ,Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Mars Hill Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Jerry Clyde Pettie, 71, of Pekin, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at UnityPoint – Health in Pekin.
He was born September 26, 1951 in Philadelphia, MS to Clyde and Christine (Nowell) Pettie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are two children, Corey (Tricia) Pettie of Pekin and Jera Pettie; four grandchildren, Drake Pettie, Cori Lynn Pettie, Spencer Pettie and Cash Roberts; sisters, Judy (Johnny) Hollingsworth and Lisa (Charles) Rhodes .
Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army.
He had worked at the Terra Haute Penitentiary in Terra Haute, Indiana and he later transferred to Pekin Federal Correctional Institute.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
