James Luke

Funeral services for James Luke were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Chance May officiating. Interment followed in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James Luke, 92, died on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

He was born and lived in the Longino community before moving to Noxapater where he attended Noxapater High School and then he enlisted in the United States Navy. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked as an electrician until his retirement.

Survivors include sons, Jim Luke (Wanda) and John Luke (Tammy); sisters, Dorothy Gressett and Dwight Sloan; brothers, Virgle Luke (Betty), Glenn Luke and Larry Luke (Maxine); two grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Tilman Luke and Wellie Daniels Luke; brothers, Cecil and Benny Luke; sister, Martha Carter.
