Neshoba County Superintendent of Education Lundy Brantley was honored on his retirement with a reception last week at the Ellis Theater.

Dr. Brantley aspired to adopt a culture of high expectations for the staff and students when he took over the school district as its first appointed superintendent in July 2017.

Under his leadership, the school district attained a historic “A” accountability grade for the 2021-22 session. Members of his family joined numerous others for the reception, including, from left, Jerry Brantley, Pat McNees, Meredith Woolbright, Paige Brantley, Dr. Brantley, Linda Brantley and Emmy and Mark Majure. Assistant Superintendent of Education Tommy Holland presented Dr. Lundy Brantley with a miniature Radio Flyer wagon upon his retirement. B

rantley often used the phrase “Don’t worry about the mule, just load the wagon,” Holland said, noting the gist was “to just get the job done.”
