A Philadelphia man was arrested and charged after leading Union Police and Scott county officials on a high-speed chase last week.

Austin Todd Jarriel, 22, of Philadelphia was arrested and charged with felony pursuit, reckless driving, improper passing, and possession of a controlled substance.

Jarriel was arrested after leading Union police on a chase that ended in Scott County after Jarriel attempted to avoid a UPD traffic checkpoint on North Street in the Neshoba County on Oct. 26.

Clark said Jarriel was apprehended in Scott County by Sebastopol Police who had joined the chase. Clark said Jarriel will face charges in that jurisdiction as well.

Clark said Jarriel was brought to the Neshoba County Detention Center because the chase began in Neshoba County.
