Mrs. Helen Milling, age 87, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

Helen Milling worked most of her life in a variety of positions, starting out at Midland Shirt Factory when she graduated high school.  She met the love of her life, Martis Milling, and married him on July 3, 1963.  She soon began working for him as his secretary, managing his books.  She also helped raise chickens, worked a big garden, and baked cakes for the public for many years…..any kind of cake anyone needed, but most especially wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and anniversary cakes.

The best jobs that she had, however, she didn’t consider as jobs…..they were blessings.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Nothing made her happier than to spend time with her family.  She loved any kind of family get-togethers and if you were in the family, there was a birthday party in your future.  She loved to cook and if you left her house hungry, she used to say, it was your own fault.  She loved to play practical jokes on everybody and she loved it even more when someone pulled a good joke on her.

In addition to spending time with her family, she loved to fish, and she loved watching Andy Griffith, I Love Lucy, and Leave It To Beaver.  She loved the Lord, reading her Bible, and listening to gospel music and country music.

Gone, but not forgotten, anyone who ever met Helen Milling will never forget her kindness, grace, gentle spirit, and her great sense of humor.
